They DO secretly like each other...

My kids do play well together from time to time, and there is no one who can make the other laugh as hard as they do each other. But on the other hand, the fighting has gotten intense. There are days when they fight about EVERYTHING and they drive each other- and me- crazy. And they can get into a serious bar fight- yes, punching in the face!- and I sometimes wonder how they can be so mean to each other? But whenever I start to question if they really like each other, I see a little love sneak out amidst all the chaos.
Hazel was on time out yesterday and Drew went over and sat outside her door while she was crying. He looked at me and said, "sister sad. want out." He was so concerned and trying so hard to plead her case for me and it made my heart melt how much he didn't like seeing her sad. Then tonight Drew woke up with a fever and was crying really hard. Hazel came running in and said with so much worry, "what happened?!?" I just said he wasn't feeling well. She came over and rubbed his tummy and said, "mom I think his tummy is hurting him. And he's getting all red because it hurts. He needs some medicine". She continued to rub his tummy and tell him it's ok, and then she came over and whispered in my ear, "can I give him my donut?". This is a donut she got with Grandma Yoj and has been hiding all day in the fridge so no one would eat it. She was saving it for a special breakfast treat tomorrow morning. But when she saw how sad Drew was, she was willing to give it up.
I guess it's just a sibling thing, right?! You fight hard, you love hard. I am so proud of my cute kids for taking care of each other when it really counts though. <3

Darla and Bennett are similar. Love/Hate relationship. That face Hazel is making (I'm sorry), but looks a lot like a face you might make :)
Glad you feeling better. You're my favorite.
