DisNeYLaNd!!!!

My sister Brittany and I had a spontaneous thought that we needed to take our girls to Disneyland before they stopped their princess phase, and what started as a girls weekend turned into a fabulous family vacation. We rented a vacation house (heaven...SO the way to travel with little kids!) The girls could play dress ups, we could cook dinners and there was even a pool table my dad and Tom got a lot of use out of (and drew tried hard).

We spent 2 1/2 days at Disneyland and our kids did really well- no major meltdowns at all! I learned that Disneyland is not a relaxing or rejuvenating trip by any means (especially when you're 6 months pregnant)- but it was so much FUN!! They LOVED seeing all the characters- Drew was in absolute awe at Goofy and Mickey. In fact, he couldn't stop kissing Mickey when he gave him a hug. And he still talks about seeing them now that we're home.

Hazel's favorite was seeing all the Princesses, it was so cute to watch her and Sophie get so excited when they saw them! They both came prepared each day with their Princess dresses and their hair done like Rapunzel. They especially liked Cinderella who twirled with them and even taught them how to curtsey. It was so darling!! She also got to see the crown in Flynn Ryder's satchel...very cool!

My kids are definite thrill seekers! They couldn't wait to do all the rides- they would both just squeal and laugh the whole time. It was sooo fun to watch them! The favorites were the Buzz ride and the Nemo submarine. And Grandpa had the time of his life on the Carousel. :)

I think, however, "It's A Small World" may have scared them:

Surprisingly, the goat petting zoo was a huge hit! Hazel wanted a picture taken with every single goat. So here is the montage:

And all of this was so much better because they got to do it with their cousins- and their Grandpa, who was the main attraction the entire trip. Even Disneyland can't take the attention away from Grandpa! We're so glad we got this experience under our belts while our kids were young enough to enjoy the "magic" of it all. But it'll be a while before we go again...(:

A great way to end the trip: staying a night and swimming at MGM Grand on our drive back through Las Vegas. The kids were almost as thrilled being there as they were at Disneyland...that would've been much cheaper! (:
