Father's Day Part II

My dad and his grandbabies (Miles & Hazel)

I also want to tell my own dad how grateful I am to have been blessed with him as my father. The one thing that I've always loved and admired about my dad is his ability to make you feel like you are the most important thing in the world- all the time. Growing up, no matter what was going on or how busy his work was, he would drop ANYTHING to be with you if you needed him...even if you just wanted to talk or have a little snuggle. I always knew that I meant more to him than anything else because he would sit for hours on the kitchen floor talking to me about life- even dumb highschool life- when he had hours of work to do. Every time I'd walk into his office, he would stop everything he was doing and really be with me. I loved knowing I could go in there at any moment and sit on his lap and he would give me his full attention. He knows what is truly important in life and he taught that to us by showing how to make your family and building relationships a priority above all else. I always felt so lucky to have a dad that I knew I could talk to about anything- and that he'd be understanding, nonjudgmental and loving no matter what I said. What a blessing it is to have a friend in your father. And he helped- and continues to help- show me the type of parenting that I want to give to my own children. Even now, he is so selfless with his children. He has spent countless hours helping Tom and I move, remodeling both our condos, and fixing anything that breaks in our condo (he can do everything, it's amazing!) And he is the sweetest grandpa...he LOVES his grandkids and is always so happy to see them and babysit them. He is such an incredible father and grandfather. He has fulfilled those roles beautifully. I love you daddy! Thanks for always being there for me. You are such an incredible blessing in my life!

Here are some fun pictures from our Father's Day celebration at my dad's house...

And last, but not least, Hazel's first ride on Susan...
