i.hate.our.computer. and some other things

The friggin internet stops working every time I get on the computer. And when the internet actually starts to work, the computer shuts off for no reason. Every time. I am ready to throw this stupid machine across the room.

{Right after I typed this, the computer shut down. Case in point.}

So until me and this computer resolve our issues, I don't have any pictures to blog. And without pictures, a post is just a tad too boring. This is why I haven't blogged in a while. That, and the fact that our house is at a constant 84-86 degrees, our last bid was $14,000 to fix the mess of a furnace the last owner's left us, and doing anything, like even just running a computer, to bring more heat in this sauna we call a home would put me in the nut house. Turns out, I'm not a fan of the heat.
Welcome to adult life, right?? Yay.
Well...until I get all our pictures on Tom's laptop, or we buy a new computer, or I get a personal fan that hangs from my forehead and constantly cools me, I'll leave you with some quotes I've come across lately that have helped me refocus a little...something I need to do much more often. Enjoy!

“This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose being recognized by yourself as a mighty one. Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I love. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me; it is a sort of splendid torch and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.” -George Bernard Shaw

"If you are still in the process of raising children...
be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will -to your surprise- miss them profoundly."
-Thomas S. Monson

"The family is eternal. Love must be nurtured. It must be spoken. We must put away our pride, our haughtiness, our shyness, our misunderstandings, and with humility say, "I love you. Is there something I can do to help you?" You can never be completely happy under any other circumstances."

and

"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are."

and my all time favorite

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed some-one's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

ARG! I hate computers sometimes too! I love the quotes! I just read one today that said, "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."
