I was running a bath with Hazel standing beside me. She really wanted to get in but I sat her on the toilet and said she had to wait until I got the water temp right. I looked at her, sitting on the toilet without a diaper, and thought, hey this could be a good teaching moment. So I told her she could go peeps or poops in the potty if she wanted to. So she did! Peeps in the potty for the 1st time! Just a fluke I told myself. The next day, Tom and I were talking in the other room and heard Hazel go in the bathroom and close the door. Trouble. Always trouble when Hazel is quiet and content. But to our surprise- and absolute joy- she had gone in, taken her pants and her diaper off all by herself and was on the potty- doing poops!! Only Hazel. Leave it to this girl to potty train herself...
