Drew at 6 & 7 months...

Drew is 7 months now! It is absolute insanity how fast these little kiddos grow up...it's so bitter-sweet. We missed 6 months, but Drew can't hold it against me when he's older that he has one less than Hazel because it's his own fault for not sleeping. :) Well, and the fact that I have zero time to get to the computer these days. So maybe it's not all your fault. Some of it is Hazel's. :)
So many new things have happened these last couple months and I feel like our little Drewby is becoming less of a baby every day. Here's a little bit about what he's like now...

*He loves, loves, loves his lovey. He can't sleep without it.
*We did 'cry it out' around 6 months and it was unbelievable...he cried for 10 minutes (!) and then went to sleep. That was it. Now I can just put him in his crib at nap & bed time and he goes to sleep on his own. It's remarkable how good this kid is.
*He loves to chew on his baby spoons. If you want to see some serious rage, just try taking it away from him. Tom will hear him start screaming from the other room and he just says, in his incriminating voice, "did you take his spoon away?!?" There's only one reason he cries that hard.
*He started eating cereal at 6 months and loves it.
*We just tried introducing other foods about a month later and I started with carrots and it did not sit well. He ate it just fine, but spent the next 2 days throwing up. I think we'll wait a little while to do that again...
*He's starting to cry when I leave the room, but the stranger-anxiety hasn't totally kicked in yet. He still does pretty well letting other people hold him.
*If his binky is in his hands he can usually get it back into his mouth all by himself now. Big accomplishment! (the things we praise as mothers.... :) )
*He still just can't get enough of that comfort food at night...but this last week we've been going every 4 hours instead of every 2-3 and that extra little bit makes it so much better!
*He started being able to sit all by himself at 6 months. Now he loves to just hang out on the floor and play with toys. I love this stage...it's so cute to watch them start gaining a little independence.
*He's a snuggle bug. He climbs up my stomach and curls his head into my neck whenever I hold him. Heaven, heaven, heaven, heaven, heaven. Did I mention heaven??
*Him and Hazel are becoming the cutest little friends. We'll be driving in the car and I don't know what gets them going but they'll start just cracking up at each other in the back seat. They both laugh so hard. It's the cutest thing I've ever heard in my life. It's amazing to me how much they communicate and play with each other even though Drew can't even talk. Those moments make everything I've ever gone through worth it.
*He loves to be outside. We could sit on the rocking chair on our balcony all day long.
*Since he refuses to take the bottle, I tried a sippy cup the other day and he loved it. Granted it had juice in it, but hopefully once he gets used to it I can put breastmilk in there and get him a little less attached to mom.
*He has found his voice and if the cork (binky) gets unplugged, watch out. He loves to scream!
*He loves to be tickled, thrown in the air, hung upside down... ahh, just like his sister...

He is the happiest, sweetest, most lovable little boy with a smile that can melt your heart in half a second. He makes us happy every single day. We love you our little Drewby baby!!
