7 & 8 months

Well I missed writing about Hazel when she turned 7 and 8 months, so I'm going to do a little catch up here before she turns 9 months. I bet you're so excited you can hardly contain yourselves, right?! It's so fun to read every little detail about someone else's baby, huh?! Well get ready, because here comes the mega of all lists!
(L: 7 months / R: 8 months)

I know it's so cheesy and I've said it in every other post, but you are getting more fun by the minute! You are full of personality, silly faces, chubby cheeks, funny laughs, juicy thighs, bum dimples, cheesy smiles, expressive eyebrows, lots of strange talking and yelling, and best of all, very edible toes. In essence you are all we could've hoped for in our baby girl! We love you to the moon and back. Here's what life's been like for you the last 2 1/2 months...

1. the week before you turned 8 months you...drumroll...CRAWLED! it is so fun to see you learn and grow but i must admit life was a bit easier before i had to chase you around the house all day. (:

2. you suddenly think to laugh your mouth must be wide open with your nose scrunched up and must include snorting. it's so dang funny. you also do that just when you're smiling.

3. around 7 1/2 months you started wanting to hold our hands and walk around the house. again, very cute, but my back hurts by the end of the day because i've had to take you on a walk about every hour. but it makes you so happy no matter what mood you're in, so it's worth it.

4. you pull yourself up on everything- I mean everything- and love to cruise along the couch.

5. you can stand alone pretty well until you realize you're standing and then you get scared and fall on your butt.

6. you hate the grass...you cry the entire time you're on it

7. you say dada and baba very well although i have the sneaking suspicion you have no idea what it means

7. you can feed yourself now and love to eat puffs, or whatever mom and dad are eating. you refuse baby food now and only want real food. you LOVE to be a big girl! you'll throw your bottle if you see other food as an option. and it's so cute when you pick up food and bring it to your mouth, your other hand has to help it up. hard to explain, but very funny.
7a. when dad and i are eating, you'll crawl up to our chairs, pull yourself up and start grunting to be fed. you have turned into a little begging ogre.

8. you love to pull your books off the shelf. the other day you pulled some of my school books off my shelf and ripped the pages out. this is what happens when i leave you alone for .02 seconds.

9. you love to be into whatever mom is doing. when i do the dishes, you climb in and pull the dishes out, or pull open the dryer door and get the clothes out while i'm doing laundry. you're already such a good helper.

10. when you eat your bottle, you hold it with one hand and your other hand reaches above your head and plays with your hair. it's hilarious.

11. you have 2 calloucs (sp?) on the back of your head that swirl in opposite directions. it looks like you have horns.

12. you LOVE to drink from cups (even if they're as big as you are). and you get really into it..check out the tongue (:

13. you still aren't a fan of snuggling, but we found the trick to this. take you in a hot tub when you're really tired. it worked wonders.

14. you are such an independent spirit. but you're a dependent independent spirit. confused yet? well since the day you could sit, feed yourself a bottle and put yourself to sleep without mom rocking you, you have transformed into the HAPPIEST baby. now that you can crawl and get into things you are even happier. you love doing things on your own. on the other hand, you love to follow me around during the day and if you're alone in your room playing and see me in the other room, you come crawling as fast as your little body will go and climb up on my legs (so sweet!). you love to be kissed and played with, but not necessarily held. you like to be near us, but doing your own thing. from this i have concluded that you are dependently independent.

So to you, our little independently dependent baby girl, we love every single thing about you just the way you are. we wouldn't trade you for the universe. you make our life worth it...every second of every day.

all the love in the world,
mom and dad
